I don't guess you guys mind another intro. As you see above, my name is Jason Hamilton. I am a Home schooler and in High School (Junior). I have no previous programming experience in any other languages, though I do know a bit about C++. I guess I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I hope to change that with this course though. I have experience with game programming in C++ through the use of Theatrix. |

Im an interactive design student in Wellington New Zealand, studying Director and kinda interested in the whole games development/shockwave on the internet thing. I also have a bit of a background in animation, film and media studies, so I actually enjoy doing storyboards and thinking of games in terms of how they work as entertainment media (the whole genre/ media product thing). And I like playing them too, and am getting used to the whole hack and slash thing( what you wanna talk - just let me kill you!!). Probably came into it more from the platform side of things though did manage to get myself addicted to Simcity a few years back. I put myself on the list at 5am in the morning, while I was distracted doing an assignment, so am having trouble remembering the um...general purpose of the dev group (things you do at 5 in the morning and then wake up and wonder what happened...). Little bit new to the whole newsgroup thing also so some guidance as to how to participate with the group would be really appreciated. I can do 2d graphics, animation, quicktime, Photoshop, Premiere, - so like sprite animation and film loops, movies. I have a basic knowledge of 3D animation, 3D MAX, and a little lightwave. Also like doing stuff like creating environments, using Bryce, though haven't seen Bryce 3 yet. Ive been studying Director 6 this year, and Lingo programming a form of OOP (so Director prototypes burned onto a CD are a potentially do-able thing) and have a working knowledge of the Internet - Ive been making little shockwave games (firewalled off at the moment, though will probably deal to that soon). |

Have taken a few programming courses my freshman year, and I'm taking another this year in computer graphics. I'm still in high school, but I have programmed several games in Visual Basic, and I'm working on porting a game written in C for the PC to Palm Pilot Codewarrior. The game is Nethack, if any of you are interested. I have a fairly primitive knowledge of C++ compared to what you guys are talking about, but I have a friend who works with Bjorn Stroustrup, and I'm still learning. I also like to do 3-D modelings, and would be very interested in this part of the project, and in design issues. |

HTML, very little bit of Visual Basic, just now learning Javascript. Photoshop 4, web design--have designed 3 sites so far. Taking course in Multimedia Web Design this semester. I would like to just surf and learn from you and maybe make a small contribution in the graphics. I do not have the programming background most of you have, but by reading these messages, I will learn, and best of all is to see how such a project gets organized and gets done. |

I am a Computer Science student of Melbourne University. I would like to volunteer as a programmer for our development team. I have extensive programming experience in C using DJGPP, in HTML and Delphi. Also I have basic knowledge of VB. Now on my course I am learning C++ and Prolog. Currently I am also learning programming using Microsoft VC++ 5.0 and I think it will be exciting experience working with you guys on our dream of computer designing. |

Information: Recently graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in the lovely state of Washington. I'm now a full time programmer currently using VB. I've been interested in games programming for a rather long time and have looked into many aspects. These include graphics programming/design, game engine/design, sound programming (Haven't done any at all), network design and implementation (both hardware and software). Hrmm... and a couple others that I currently can't remember *grin* Languages: I know, C, C++ (Borland Builder, MS VC++, a little DJGPP), Pascal, Object Pascal (Delphi), a smattering of Java, HTML is a piece of cake, a little ADA (though this is _not_ a recommended language for this *grin*), and a bit of LISP. |
